Zürcher Geschnetzeltes

Sliced veal in cream (strips of meat with cream sauce)

500 gr meat (veal, beef, chicken, turkey, or pork)

Oil

cut the meat into thin stripes, put them into the frying pan and fry them until they are brown, take the meat out of the pan and keep it warm

1 tablespoon of margerine

let it melt in the  frying pan

1 onion

peal it and cut it nicely, steam it in the frying pan

1 small tin of mushrooms

cut the mushrooms into slices and steam them in the frying pan with the onions

1 tablespoon of flour

add the flower to the vegetables (sprinkle it over the vegetables) , and stir everything well

¼ l of beef broth (or a bit more)

pour it into the pan and stir well

1/8 l of cream

add the cram, stir well

salt and pepper

season the dish so that it tastes good

add the meat

This dish tastes nice with pasta, rice or even potatoes.

 

We had it with spaetzle.

 

You can cook any kind of vegetables with the dish like broccoli, cauliflower, peas and carrots but we did a salad with it.

 

Lettuce salad

1 lettuce or iceberg lettuce

wash it and cut it into pieces

cream sauce to go with the lettuce

 

200 gr cream

 

lemon juice

1 teaspoon sugar

season the cram with lemon and sugar so that it tastes nice

we also added 1 nicely cut onion

 

Waht is a good dinner without a dessert??

We had ‘Herrencreme’ literally translated with ‘creme for gentlemen’

Prepare a vanilla creme with 500 ml milk (that’s something like cold custard)

 

 

200 gr cream

whip the craem and stir it into the vanilla creme

50 gr dark chiocolate

chop it and add it to the vanilla creme

2 tablespoons rum

add it to the vanilla creme

You can leave out the rum and then we call it ‘creme for ladies’
